I paid to receive internet and installation 30 days ago, and they where supposed to install the router Jan 4th, however, today I cancelled the installation as I will keep my current provider. Do I receive the credit automatically or do I have to do something else?

Yes the refund must be automatic it can take from 4 to 6 weeks it is similar delay when you unsubscribe
Tomorrow you can contact Fizz support today the close at 16h
1- Log in to your account (see top right).
2- Any ad blocker in your browser must be disabled.
3- You must be on a help sheet: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/unsubscribe
4- The green bubble should appear in bottom right of the page

You should receive full credit on the same card you used when subscribing.

No. You don't need pay before installation happened and service was cancelled.
If you cancel before your appointment you should get your refund automatically but it may take quite a while.
