I recently booked my appointment to install my internet, but I have just realized that it is probably more beneficial to make a new account to take advantage of the $40 referral.
Is there anyway to cancel the request and get a full refund? Or am I better off just leaving it as is?

you need to cancel the appointment, but after that contact the support to speed up the refund process.
If you can, create a new account, to use the 40$ since I do not know if Fizz will consider you as a new customer if you are using the old account :(
