When to transfer my plan?

The due date for paying the bill for my plan (not Fizz) will be soon, and after that I want to transfer my phone plan and number to Fizz. When should I apply for the transfer so that I would directly start paying to Fizz and not my previous mobile company plan ?

If I remember correctly, in my experience, it doesn't really matter. By transferring your number to fizz it will automatically terminate your account with your old provider. They will send you a bill for the remaining balance of your phone (if you have one) + a bill for the portion of the month you have used their service (in %). You can always give them a call after a couple of days to be sure the account is closed.

Start buying a SIM card, if you have near you a couche tard try there, however, you can buy online, but canada post has around 2 week delay for the delivery .

If you have no device balance on your current plan I would just transfer now. Your current provider will cancel your service with them once the port is done and will (or at least should) only bill you for the days you used this past billing cycle.

Regarding Mike's two week comment. I ordered a sim at 10pm last night, Canada Post delivery is scheduled for tomorrow (located in Ottawa). So it seems their shipping may be back on track if it was 2 weeks not long ago.

If you have your Fizz SIM card, you can activate all time, I recommend to this 24h before cancel your plan not fizz.

Note: normally after activate your Fizz SIM card you be able to receive but not do calls. You will be able to call within 2 hours after activation.
