Can I keep my roommate's modem?

My roommate moved out yesterday. He is going to have internet provided at his new place through another provider. From my understanding he needs to return the modem to avoid being charged. Now I would like to subscribe to fizz myself, and it would seem silly to send back our current modem to wait 2 weeks for a new one to arrive. Is there a way I can keep my roommate's modem for my new account so he wont have to send it back?

    I would contact them by Facebook to see if you can activate this modem with a new account, here:https://www.facebook.com/fizzca/

    I don’t see why you should return it but definitely make sure you subscribe to the service and once that is completed I would contact customer service directly. If you want more information you can contact the customer Service either on Facebook messenger (https://facebook.com/fizzca.) or Fizz Website by oppening this link (https://fizz.ca/fr/faq/comment-gerer-le-rendez-vous-avec-...) and simply scroll down until you see the Green Bubble, Click on it to start your Chat session with the customer service.

    Hi Jonathan, you will have to contact the customer Service to make sure can activate this modem with a new account. You can do it either on Facebook messenger (https://facebook.com/fizzca.) or Fizz Website by oppening this link (https://fizz.ca/fr/faq/comment-gerer-le-rendez-vous-avec-...) and simply scroll down until you see the Green Bubble, Click on it to start your Chat session with the customer service.
