Got the email saying my activation was complete so I popped in my SIM card into my unlocked iPhone (bought it at an Apple Store) and I get the message that the SIM card is from a carrier not supported by the activation policy assigned by the activation server... What????
Like your message say in the last paragraph, your phone is sim locked
Contact the previous provider and ask to be unlock it is free

Obviously this iPhone is locked. Take back to the Apple Store and show them as proof that the phone they gave you is locked.
