How long does activation take?

I already have 3 accounts for myself and my kids, which were pretty well activated right away. Just got a sim card for my wife, same day I ordered it no less, and it's saying activation pending, there's no number transfer or anything like that, so just wondering if anyone knows if new activations take more time, or is there an issue?
