Answered question
I live in gatineau and have a canada-wide plan. I was in downtown ottawa last week (12 minutes away from home) and was told that my plan did not allow me to make a call from ottawa.
I have had a cellular plan local to in the ottawa/gatineau region for over a decade and have never had a problem making a call within either cities region (they are across the river from one another). they have always been classed as the same urban area by every one of the plans I have had. virgin, mobilicity, chatr, bell, rogers, fido, koodo...
I really like fizz and wan't to remain a customer but this is obnoxious and unusual.... what gives????
With Canada coverage you can call any number in Canada without additional charge assuming that you have unlimited Call in your plan

You do. Just say "long distance" doesn't mean you can't call. To avoid this, just call 1-613-xxx-yyyy instead.
Or you just call 613-xxx-yyyy and Fizz will say it's long distance, just do nothing and call will go through.
