SMS send / receive not working

I have updated iOS, updated Carrier Settings, removed and reinserted the SIM card, and rebooted many times. Turned iMessage and Facetime off and then back on. Signed out and back into my Apple ID... Phone number just won't connect! Keeps spinning and waiting for activation. Does anyone have this issue and is there a fix?

Same here, text messages don't work from my iPhone.17

Please have patience till monday, they will have a patch roll out to fix all existing problems.15

Make sure that you have enable sending SMS when iMessage is not available.

As for iMessage, it has been working good until yesterday's network problem.
You will be able to send SMS at least.

iMessage isn't working since thursday for me, so it's not because of yesterday's network problem (at least for me).11

Try turning off LTE Voice & Data and try 3G setting only. Works in some cases.11

Tested iMessage earlier on 3G and it worked - I have not tested regular text messages (“green” on iPhone).7
