Using data add-on to add data to talk only plan?

Hi,
I have a discounted old plan with FIzz, with only talking minutes, no data.
I want to add mobile data, to use Internet on my phone, so I figured that I would add a data add-on. Would that work?
Would that also allow me to take advantage of my various data perks?
I'd rather not change my old plan in order not to lose my discount, hence the question.

Yes the addons are done also for that, and for sure they will not modify your plan

An Add-On is additional data, minutes, text or minutes for international calls that you can add onto your current monthly plan. Add-Ons are useful if you’re running low on monthly data or minutes, or if you want to add a feature, such as international calling, that’s not part of your current monthly plan.

Purchasing add-ons is not considered a plan change. It will not affect the discounted price of your plan.
Also note that you should be able to use the data perks as long as you have a mobile plan (even a plan without data).
Lastly, you can receive Data Perks gifted from other members even if you do not have a data plan.
