Can I get a basic modem (older model) when I sign up fro Fizz internet or is there only 1 kind available? I currently have the Helix modem and it gives me headaches because it is 10x more powerful than the older generation one. I would like a basic modem that has an on/off switch. Are you able to provide that and how do I go about ordering it? Thanks.

Hi Alexandra

All FIzz home internet customers use the same modem: Hitron model CODA-4680.
I have been using this modem for almost 2 years without any issue.
It does not have any motor or fan so it makes no noise and it consumes very little power.
But when you want to turn it off, you have to unplug it.

To find out if you are eligible for Fizz home Internet, you can go here to simulate a registration: https://fizz.ca/en/internet

Select your plan and enter your address. If you are eligible, you can enter your payment information and select an installation date.

On your installation date, the technician will bring the Fizz modem and hook up the cabling into your home. You can consult the overall Fizz guide here: https://fizz.ca/en/internet/how-it-works

Hi Alexandra

There is only one model, therefore you can not pick a different one.
you can use it like a modem and connect your own router, if you want to have different functionality
