Answered question

No emergency alert?

Anyone else still not get an emergency alert with Fizz? My phone was silent, while my daughters' phones (on public mobile, data switched off) were both blaring. My data is always turned on and LTE works on my phone, but it was silent.

Is this a Fizz thing or a my phone thing? It's kind of concerning in case of a real emergency.

Hi Allison

I received the alert at 1:55pm.

Your phone has to be connected to LTE and your device must be compatible (and up-to-date).

Which phone model are you using and is it up-to-date?

Hi Allison,
I also got the alert on my phone.
Authorities warned that your device had to be compatible to receive the alert.

My phone is on Android 6.0, so not new but not ancient. Acer liquid zest plus. I don't know if it was on LTE at the time of the alert or not since I wasn't looking at it.

@Fizzy Thanks for the link. According to the list for compatible phones under Videotron, my phone isn't on the list, so I guess that may be why I don't get alerts? My phone may be the issue.

I didn’t receive the alert too. I have an iPhone with the last update.

@Fizzy Thanks for the link, but I'm pretty happy with my current phone. It works fine and the battery still lasts all day.
.
I did find an app that will broadcast emergency alerts, so I'll just install that.
