Internet plan comment ?

Hi,

I'm already a Fizzer with a mobile plan.
Now I'm thinking about having an Internet plan also with Fizz. I would like to know how are you satisfied about this service ?
Any issue with it ?
How easy it is to set it up ?
Would you recommend using the modem alone or pair it with another device ?
Thanks

Daniel

Hello, I have the 60 Mbps and 10 upload speed. I love it. Despite the covid times we are living in, installation was still done in home (I paid for the VIP installation fee) and it was well worth the small fee. The technician was professional and thorough. I have no issues, with the modem alone. Girlfriend and I are able to steam Netflix, have a Zoom phone call, while also surfing the internet on our smartphones all at the same time. I'm so happy I with Fizz that they now provide my internet and mobile services for me. Very impressed!

Hi
I have a 30Mbps for me everything is fine never had a problem, to setup, you connect the coaxial and power cable. Wait 15 minutes, login change the password and your are up and running
I do not have any problem with the signal, it is right, for sure with a good router you can have a higher signal

I find the routers built into modems are horrible for all internet providers.

I would recommend you buy a good router.

Fizz internet shares the same solid infrastructure with Videotron. See how many are you in the house, for one person 30Mbs is fine, 60 if you are 2 in the house stream video and work from home.
The cable service is pretty reliable, i connected the supplied modem to a dedicated router, have no problems. Don't place the modem/router in a dresser or a closet like my friend did, his kids where playing with it, and the little one pulled on the cable, the router fell...

Daniel, the service is great for the price. As for the modem/routeur you may have slight dropouts but it shouldn't cause you any issues. I suggest to try the modem as is and if you have issues or you want a greater signal coverage than you can opt for a separate router. As for the plan itself, if you have a family or are more than 2-3 in your household go for 60 or higher. If not, 15 or 30 will do.

Hi Daniel

If you are using cable internet now without any issues, the transition to Fizz should be very smooth. Fizz conducted a survey of home internet subscribers and 95% are pleased with the service.

The Fizz modem is plug-and-play. If you can plug in the coaxial cable and the electrical plug, and let the modem complete its update, you can go with the free installation.

Keep your current internet subscription active until you are satisfied that Fizz works well for you. You can contact your provider and cancel on the same day. There is no commitment, you can cancel either internet service at any time.

As for the modem, it works well in average size homes. If you live in a large home or you live in an area having lots of wifi usage, it is easy to use your own modem or add a wifi extender.

Hi!

I have the 120mbps plan, I'm a web developer and run a lot of stuff through a VPN to connect to our servers at the office.

The wifi isn't always solid enough (combination of videoconferencing and running stuff through the VPN) but wired it's perfect.

TV runs smoothly off of wifi, and my husband who uses the internet for gaming and online classes says he has no issue.

Setup took minutes, technicien was very efficient.

And we use a wifi extender for the basement, as the wifi router is good enough only for one floor.

Hi, I have the 60/10 plan and I really like their combined router/modem. It is easy to setup and works quite well for an average apartment size. But if you are far from the router, I would advise on using a wired connection.

Also the router interface and the app give you a lot of control on your home internet.

All in all, I have no problem with it and would definitively recommend it.

Hi I used the cable internet for 2 month. Connexion is great 66mbps for an 60mbps account.

The main problem is their modem/router. Since I use my asus router (and fizz router on bridge mode) I got no more problems.

First try with fizz router, if you have problems get a good router it will be an wise choice.

Hi Daniel,
If you like Fizz for your mobile, I'm sure you'll like internet too. We can easily update my plan online if I want.
For me, it was really easy and quick to setup. It's similar to configuring a router. The only thing I changed at first was the wifi name and password.
Later, I decided to use my own router connected to the Fizz modem because I wanted the router to be more central in our apartment (Fizz modem is near the cable plug at one end of the apartment).
