New customer. I followed Transfer of phone number instructions. Now 3 hours later no text message from Fizz to insert sim card. I did receive a text message from unidentified soarse with 3 attachments I threw it away. Hope that was not Fizz! My phone presently cannot make calls, the message says on the phone I am not registered, on the network!

Austin are you sure that your phone is unlocked?
For your transfer ask fizz directly Chat with Fizz.
To chat without problem:
First, connect you to your fizz account.
Then contact them at: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/what-payment-methods-can-i-use
Wait a few seconds to see the green chat bubble down to the right of the page.
When you see it, click on it.
Your chat session begins with Fizz

First try restarting your phone. Also follow the advice of Lieux. Even though you requested a transfer of your number, once your Fizz SIM card has been activated, you should be able to make outgoing calls and send texts.
Also does your old provider SIM card still work?
Austin, in my case I recieved the text a while after the transfer was actually made. It did help to restart my phone to install any up on dates needed.
Thanks for the help. I put in the new Fizz sim card, next I received instructions by text. The phone now works. However I thought I would be able to send a photo as an attachement in a text , but the spinning wheel comes in and doesn't stop! I don't have gigs for internet on the phone. Can I send a photo in a text message?

You do need to have mobile data to be able to send MMS as picture texts consume data.

Thanks for the quick answer. If I understood correctly to send a photo along with some text, requires a step up to the 27$ level, for my cellphone per month.
