Hello,
I have a Thomson dcm475 docsis 3.0 cable modem
https://www.amazon.ca/Thomson-DCM475-DOCSIS-Cable-Modem/dp/B004MYYVDM which I'd like to use.
https://www.speedguide.net/routers/technicolor-thomson-dcm475-docsis-30-cable-modem-1303
Behind the modem I plan to use a wifi router with linux on board, so that I can manage my traffic and security.
I'd like to use only my equipment, not the ones provided by Fizz.
Is it possible? If so, how can I prevent Fizz from delivering me a modem, where is that option in my profile?
p.s. I just started to investigate Fizz services.
Thank you

If I decide to use Fizz router-modem in bridge mode do I pay any fees to rent it?

Nope. The plan fees listed on Fizz website are all inclusive, including the modem rental.

Besides taxes, the only extra fee for internet plan is one-time $30 for VIP installation.
By default, you can connect the modem yourself at extra cost to you.

Hi Ivan! Thanks for your great question!
No you can't use your own modem. The mac address is registered in Fizz Database, so you need to use the fizz modem or you won't get access to your ISP.
It's been a pleasure to assist you today! Have a great day! :)
