Should the modem be turn off during long idle time (ex. sleep or vacation)? or always keep power on

Good mornig, To optimize the modem life span and save the power consumption, should the idle modem being turned off during bedtime or vacation, then resume upon back online? or should keep power on 24/7 though no activity as no active device connected? For the power consumption you will better of to turn off
For the night I will keep on in this way if an update will be pushed you will not notice the reboot7
