BLocked Number STILL able to leave me a voicemail

I got around 6 Spam calls from 1-800-461-9845 in the past 5 hours, I obviously blocked it. Its an automated message saying there is a problem with my social security number, Obvious fraud attempt. Even though the number is blocked, the phone will not ring, but it will go into voicemail still. How is that even a thing? How to not allow it to go to voicemail?

When your phone block a number this is sent to the voicemail it is normal.
You can put a different ring tone, a mute one associated to that number
You can also install APP that are specialized on this, I believe that they answer and hangup6 -

The suggestion given by Mike to mute your voicemail is maybe the only solution to get rid of thoses spam calls.6 -
