Answered question

Is Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro - Global Version (model # M1906G7G) compatible with Fizz? Merci!

According to the website, the phone supports the following frequencies:
2G - B2/B3/B5/B8
3G - B1/B2/B4/B5/B8
4G LTE - B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B20/B28/B38/B40

More detailed specifications on the supported frequencies are given in: https://www.frequencycheck.com/models/OMKqP/xiaomi-redmi-...

Same as my Xiaomi Redmi 6 Global. Supports Fizz LTE band 4 but also bands 2 and 5 which are readily used in the USA. And rapidly switches from 4G to 3G when making a phone call and LTE signal is weak. Only one issue with my Redmi 6: does not display LTE in the upper line of my phone, nor in Android Auto. But doing a Speedtest. I get 60Mb/sec download which is LTE speed. See attached my partial frequency listing obtained in band mode menu (dial *#*#3646633#*#* on phone keypad)

Which frequencies must my phone support?

For an LTE-compatible phone configured with LTE network preferences:

  • Calls: Your device must support HSPA 850 MHz or 1900 MHz frequencies
  • Mobile data: Your device must have dual-frequency support for 1700/2100 MHz (also called AWS or band IV)
