Answered question
Did anyone receive a letter from the Government of Canada regarding packages for $10 per month?
did any one apply for it?
and do you know if Fizz is eligible?
I received the letter today by mail but do not know how exactly does it work

Can anyone share this letter (or post a copy without your personal info)?
Is there any details? Does it say what the $10 plan should include?
I also want to know if everyone eligible or is it by invite only.
If by invite only, its possible you have to be new immigrant or low income earner.
it by invite only and they give you a code to enter it says for eligible internet providers but do not list which provider eligible. no where on their site
@Lemon, thank you for the link.
This is a form of subsidized home internet.
@Takion, @Sigalit you can ask Fizz support to see if they allow for this.
However it's really up to Canadian government if they will pay the difference between your cost ($10) and what the ISP will charge ($30) for their starter package.
If you have received the letter, you should do the application asap. The sooner you do it, the sooner you will save.
Thank you for sharing I would love to receive 10$ discount
I just Checked according to the Government the only providers supported is Bell and Videotron
So since you received the letter, you will pay $10 monthly regardless of whether you choose Bell or Videotron.
In case you did not know, Fizz and Videotron are both owned by Quebecor.
Fizz is not one of the providers. The $10/month only gives you a 10mbps connection, with a 100gb limit. I can't imagine the uptake on this program is that high, because that sort of connection would be useless to many families. I certainly won't be using it.
@Mike. This isn't a $10 discount. This is one very limited kind of internet account being offered at $10/month for low income families.
@Allison: Yes I read it the gouvernament page, also for <30K income family
@Fizzy Fizz is a separate entity from Videotron so Fizz did not opt for the program only Bell and Videotron.
Never heard of that but thanks @Lemon for the links. A nice initiative from Trudeau's government.
@Sari I didn't say that Fizz opted in for this program. I merely mention that are both companies are owned by Quebecor.
