Can't receive text messages from non-fizz users.

I've been with Fizz for two days now. I can send texts to everyone. However, I can only receive texts from Fizz users and not from other carriers..
Basically, I can only text others who are on Fizz. Other than that, receiving texts does not work at all.

Did you port your number into Fizz?  It could be that the port was not fully successful yet.  I would suggest you contact support and have them take a look.

 

I keep seeing people suggesting checking the APN for text messages which would have no effect on SMS since it does not use any data.  The APN settings are for MMS and for Internet functionality.

Easy, Fizz is in period now (28-31).

I even lost my text notification from bank...

@Joshua, it may be link to their Maintenance but it maybe something else like your APN.
When I transfered my number to Fizz, here the checklist I followed:

  • Outgoing call
  • Incoming call
  • Incoming SMS
  • Outgoing SMS
  • Outgoing MMS
  • Incoming MMS
  • Internet

Once these steps were successfull working, then I assume that my transfer was successfully completed.

Sounds like an isolated issue, i've been testing Non-Fizz users for the last 24 hours and receiving no problem. In the Gatineau Area.
