You could have been charged for the past month, or charged for part of the monthly cost if you cancelled within the month.
Either way it would be good to contact them on messenger/support page

You have to prepay for Fizz Home Internet service. Once you have cancelled, there should be not be any monthly charges for this service.

 

If you cancel, you should be entitled to a pro-rated refund (or zero owing if you cancel on your last day of service).

 

The only foreseeable charge would be for the modem if you fail to return it.
