International usage: can I use Fizz to mainly hold a Canadian number while living abroad?

Options
Hi,
I'm leaving canada soon, and relocating to Europe. For various reasons, I want to retain my Canadian phone number.
My questions:
- While abroad, can I receive text messages at no cost?
- While abroad, if I receive a call or make one to Canada, what is the charge per minute (assuming I do not have an international add on)?
- Can my line remain active if I stay 12 months in Europe for example, before traveling to Canada?
Thanks,
Vincent

Short answer to first question is NO and here is why:
"The majority of your usage (calls, texts and data) must be done on the Fizz network.
    .
We reserve the right to interrupt or block access to our network of partner providers if you use your mobile service primarily on their networks for 3 consecutive payment cycles."

The cheapest option probably is to transfer your number to freephoneline if you really want to keep your number.
If you do not care about the money, you can leave the SIM in Canada and if you really want to transfer the call in Europe add the right package for the right country.
